My sister lives in Arizona and she has a friend who needed to finish her guest room.
Her home style is kind of farmhouse but has a lot of traditional elements as well. We tried to combine my love of vintage with enough modern touches to make it a warm and inviting space.
We started with using the headboard that her father built and it is a fun cobalt blue. This was the muse for the entire space. This was a budget remodel so we found everything second hand and lovely vintage pieces. The homeowner also gave the room a fresh new coat of white paint.
We found a beautiful antique dresser with keyhole details. And then we found a handmade vase to give it an earthy feel, and then added a brand new IKEA lamp for a touch of modern and Scandinavian. The night stand is an old school desk. We found a vintage chair to throw your purse on, or have a place to put on your shoes. My favorite element is the gingham curtains to pull the room together.
This eclectic room came together for less than $400 with durable long lasting pieces and classic design so it won’t go out of style anytime soon.
A special shout out to my Arizona assistant sister who drove around to pick up the elements all over creation so that I could slay this bedroom. She has always believed in my ability as an artist and interior designer and wouldn’t have been able to show you this amazing remodel without her.
